Protect yourself from ongoing interview and offer scams
It has come to our attention that there are candidates being contacted by an entity masquerading as Shippabo, for the purpose of initiating interviews. This imposter also sends offers to candidates, making the hire seem “official”.
To help you proceed with caution, here is a short list of criteria to be mindful of when assessing whether the contact you’ve received is from a fraudulent party.
How to spot a scammer:
- Shippabo’s initial contact to potential candidates will always be via an email or through the respective job board’s messaging function. All email correspondence will come from emails with the domain: @shippabo.com.
- We also do not use Skype as a tool for our interview process currently. This might vary depending on the location of the candidate and other logistical considerations.
- Shippabo will never ask for financial information or sensitive personal information during the interview.
- Shippabo will never charge an application fee from candidates.
- Our hiring process takes longer than 24 hours. If you receive an offer within minutes after an interview, it is most likely a fraudulent offer from a bad actor.
What to do if you think you have been contacted by scammers:
We encourage you to reach out to careers@shippabo.com to confirm the interview or offer.
We take these matters seriously and appreciate your cooperation.
